Say hello to the Honda WR-V

Brand Case Study #2

After the likes of Polo Cross, Etios cross, i20 Active, S-cross, KUV-100 Fiat Avventura, now its Honda's turn to take a bite in to the ever so small crossover market. But why Honda? Haven't you seen the lessons that your competitors have learned over the past couple of years? There is no such thing as a crossover market in India! I mean at least for those odd shaped regular hatchbacks that are converted to look like SUV's. People are not stupid to buy ill-formed objects and that too by giving a premium over its similar looking hatchbacks cousin.

But I can understand that its more of peer pressure rather than market study that has lead to this mistake! VW has one, Toyota has one, Hyundai has one, so why not us right.

And the Cross sags does not end here in the Indian auto industry. We will soon have the Grand i10 Cross too!

I would humbly ask Honda to learn from Maruti. Except for the Vitarra Brezza, they are spot on with product introductions. Even with the Vitarra Brezza, though they were fashionably late, they hit the sweet spot didn't they?

Honda India, don't give us these cars merely to extend your product line. Roll up your sleeves, do your research and give us your global cars like the HR-V which can give a run for the money for cars like the Creta and Brezza.

And forget the dream of milking the Mobilio platform with the BR-V because once again just for your information, people in India are not blind. They know that the BR-V is a souped up version of the Mobilio.

However, I would like to give Honda a brownie point for bringing the City face-lift earlier that expected. It will be introduced very soon. Good job.
