A blast from the future - Hoverbikes

Brand Case Study #11

Hoversurf, a startup based out of Russia has created a single-seat hoverbike which is awesome! The hoverbike Scorpion-3 is an updated version of the Scorpion-1 which was developed a few years earlier by the same company. But its got a long way to go before it can match the prowess of the fictional hoverbikes found in movies like Star Trek.

The pilot sits on it like a motorcycle, and flies around just like how you would expect the hoverbike to do.

Hoversurf is being positioned as an ESI - extreme sports instrument and to buy one would probably set you back by at least 6 figures. So its quite normal that you wont find it on our highways anytime soon. But what is interesting is its transportation potential.

Chief Engineer and Co-founder Alex Atamanov says that an all electric version can hover around for about 30 minutes, while a hybrid version with a petrol engine can do so for an hour.

Hoversurf has also developed its own in-house software to control the human drone which can be maneuvered in an automated mode or with full manual control. It also has built-in systems that automatically control and limit the speed and altitude of the hoverbike.

The Hoverbike began its life as a Kickstarter project and is designed to do many things that a helicopter could do but without the problems, price or complexity.

May the sky be no limit for Hoverbikes!
