Redmi Note 4 - The best just got better!

Brand Case Study #10

When Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 in India,  it became an instant hit with over 3 million units sold in just 12 months. This gave Redmi Note 3 the title of best-selling budget smart phone in India.

The budget smartphone segment in India has quite a lot of players nowadays and its giving some serious competition to Redmi. Companies like Honor, LeEco, Vivo, Lenovo and the likes have equally good intriguing products that are giving some serious heat to the Redmin line of smartphones. Recognizing that budget smartphones have a short lifespan, Redmi has launched the new Redmi Note 4 at a similar price bracket as its predecessor.

At first sight, it does not look any different from its predecessor, but the real change lies in the minor aesthetic aspects. Xiaomi has done some chrome treatment to the gaps created by the antenna bands, polished the back cover to give it more premium looks and have given the back a slight curving closer to the edges. The speaker slits have been shifted from the back cover to the bottom of the phone with the charging port sitting in the middle giving it an iPhone like design. Moving to the top section, the light sensor and the front facing camera now flank the earpiece. Even though the design changes are not very radical, its still way better than the rounded crude design of its predecessor.

On the features front, Redmi Note 4 now offers a full HD IPS LCD screen with curved protective glass. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor with 3 memory options - 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GM RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. Storage is expandable upto 128GB. The camera at the back on the Redmi Note 4 is a new 13MP sensor with phase auto focus detection with dual tone LED flash and on the front is a 5MP sensor. Connectivity option includes dual-SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Infrared and microUSB. Rounding it all off is the fingerprint scanner with the 4100mAH battery providing the POWER to do it all.

The handset comes with Abdroid 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8. The MIUI 8 has also been updated which makes the user experience very smooth.

On the pricing aspect too, Redmi has got it spot on. The 2GB+16GB is priced at Rs. 9,999 , 3GB+32GB at Rs. 10,999 and 4GB+64GB at Rs. 12,999.

So if you are in the market to buy a budget smartphone look no further.
